Fine Art Photographer, Carpenter, Film-Video Producer/Editor, and Screenwriter Peter Hollander, has worked at the highest levels of the creative arts for over twenty years. Peter is repped by Dave Marken at Concierge Content & Take 3 Talent.
Peter studied film and photography at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA with independent filmmaker, Abraham Ravett, and famed "Photo League" photographer, Jerome Liebling, who was mentor and professor to video documentarian, Ken Burns.
While at Hampshire, Peter also worked as the set designer and builder for numerous theater productions staged at Hampshire, Smith and Amherst College. While on a semester off, Peter designed and built a 2500 sq/ft studio on Boston’s historic waterfront for Jack Richmond Photography.
Starting out after college in New York City, Peter worked as a First Assistant for star LIFE MAGAZINE photographer, John Dominis, PEOPLE MAGAZINE photographer, Peter Serling, and Commercial/Fine Arts photographer, Chip Forelli, whose work is featured as some of the default B&W background screens on the Apple MacOS— the pier jutting out into the misty ocean, being one of them.
Peter began his producing and post-production career as an Associate Producer, and Director of Acquisitions, for Troma, Inc.-- “Home of the Toxic Avenger.” Working specifically on “The Class of Nuke 'em High, Part 2: Subhumanoid Meltdown” & “The Class of Nuke 'em High, Part 3: The Good, the Bad the Subhumanoid.”
From Troma, Peter went on to work as a VFX Editor/Coordinator on a multi-film-format visual effects project, “Secrets of the Luxor Temple”, Directed by famed visual effects master Douglas Trumbull, who was VFX Supervisor on “2001: A Space Odyssey”, “Blade Runner”, and “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” Visual Effects Supervisor on this project was Joel Hynek, his assistant, John Gaeta-- both were future VFX Academy Award® winners for “What Dreams May Come”, and “The Matrix”, respectively.
As a Film-Video Editor and IMAX Post-Production Supervisor, Peter has worked on the most technologically sophisticated IMAX films for Hollywood studios, to documentaries, national commercials, sizzle reels, and trailers. Clients include Disney, WGBH/NOVA, National Geographic, Dreamworks, Discovery Channel, Lifetime, ESPN, NBC Sports, USA Networks, Showtime, Madison Square Gardens, Intel, GE, Microsoft, AT&T, IBM, Lindblad Expeditions, Teen Vogue, Ben and Jerry’s, CA Technology, The Annenberg Center for Photography, Andreessen Horowitz, and the Harvard Business School.
In addition to graduating from Hampshire College, Peter also attended the State University of New York at Buffalo-- majoring in writing and computer science. He graduated from the Park School of Buffalo; spend a few high school years gracing the halls as a boarder at Worcester Academy (Abby Hoffman and Cole Porter being famous alums); and spent a high school summer at the Choate/Rosemary Hall theater immersion program, where he avoided the stage at all costs and build a lot of sets in the scene shop.
